The polaroid frame is one of the few photo treatments that adds meaning instead of just style: a picture in an instant-print frame reads as a memory, which is why the format shows up in scrapbook layouts, wedding walls, Instagram carousels and gift prints decades after the film mattered. Getting it right is mostly proportions. This tool uses the classic geometry, square image area, thin side borders, the fat bottom bar, and renders your caption there in a handwritten face, the way people actually labeled them. The vintage wash reproduces what instant film chemistry did to color: a warm lift in the mids and a soft vignette, subtle enough that faces stay natural. The tilt control exists because a perfectly straight polaroid reads as a template while two degrees of rotation reads as a photo someone put down on a table. Export is a PNG with transparency around the tilted card, so it drops onto any background, digital or printed.

Tips for best results
Things that meaningfully improve the output.
Faces survive the square crop, landscapes may not
The image area is square and center-cropped. Portraits and food shots crop beautifully; wide landscapes lose their edges, so crop them yourself first if the sides matter.
Short captions read as handwriting
Two to four words, lowercase, a date: "lisboa, march 26". A full sentence in the caption bar reads as a meme template instead of a label.
Keep the tilt small
One to three degrees is a photo on a table. Eight degrees is a graphic. Both are valid, but know which one you are making.
Print at 4 inches for the real thing
The export is 1600px across, which prints crisp at the classic 3.5 by 4.2 inch card size for gifts, walls and scrapbooks.

What are real polaroid proportions?
The classic integral film image is square, in a card with thin side borders and a bottom border roughly four times thicker. This tool uses that geometry, which is why the result reads instantly as an instant print.
Can I write on the bottom border?
Yes, that is the caption field, rendered in a handwritten typeface in the classic position. Leave it empty for a blank card.
Does the vintage toggle change my whole photo?
It applies a mild warm wash and edge vignette to the image area only, mimicking instant-film color. Toggle it off for a clean modern print with the same frame.
What format is the download?
PNG with transparency around the card, so the tilted polaroid composites cleanly onto any background in Canva, slides or a photo book.
Is it free and private?
Both: no signup or watermark, and the rendering happens in your browser so the photo never uploads.
