Upscale any image 2x or 4x
Upload any image and renza upscales it 2× or 4× using Topaz. Detail is reconstructed cleanly, faces stay intact, and the output is high enough resolution for print, large displays, or professional use.
About the image upscaler
Image upscaling has been transformed by AI in the last few years. Bicubic interpolation (the old default) just makes a small image bigger and softer; AI upscalers like Topaz actually reconstruct detail — they understand what the small pixels probably represent and synthesise plausible high-resolution details. Renza uses Topaz as its upscaling backend because it produces the cleanest face and skin detail in the market, which matters a lot for portrait upscaling. Common use cases include enlarging an AI-generated image for print, recovering detail from a small JPEG, prepping a photo for large-format display (billboard, banner, framed art), and upscaling old family photos that were scanned at low DPI. Output is delivered in the same format you upload (JPEG, PNG) at 2× or 4× the original dimensions.
How it works
- 01
Upload your photo
Drag and drop or click to upload. Any JPEG or PNG works.
- 02
Pick 2× or 4×
Choose how much to enhance. 2× for most uses, 4× for print or large display.
- 03
Run and download
Result is ready in 5–15 seconds. Download or run again with different settings.
Tips for best results
Things that meaningfully improve the output.
2× for general use, 4× for print
2× upscaling is enough for web display and social media at 2× pixel density. Use 4× when you need to print large-format or display on a 4K monitor.
Combine with photo-to-X transforms
Run any /photo-to-X conversion (anime, painting, ghibli) first, then upscale the result. Lets you print the artwork at canvas-quality resolution.
Don't upscale already-large images
If your input is already 4K or larger, upscaling adds noise without value. Only upscale when the original is small.
Faces stay intact
Topaz is particularly good at preserving facial identity through upscaling. Some upscalers smooth or distort faces; Topaz reconstructs detail without changing who's in the photo.

Frequently asked questions
Is this powered by Topaz?
Yes. Renza pipes upscale requests through the Topaz API. You get the same Topaz quality without needing a Topaz subscription.
How much does each upscale cost?
Around 2 credits for 2× and 4 credits for 4×. Credit packs from $4.99.
What input sizes are supported?
Anything up to 4096 pixels on the long edge. For larger inputs, downscale first or contact us for batch processing options.
Does it handle illustrations and AI-generated images well?
Yes. Topaz handles both photographic content and illustrative content cleanly. Particularly useful for AI-generated images that need to be printed.
Commercial use?
Yes, output is yours.
