About the heic to jpg

Apple's HEIC format (used by iPhones since iOS 11) saves 40% storage compared to JPEG at the same quality, which is great for the iPhone but a constant headache when sharing with Windows users, uploading to older services, or printing through anything but Apple Photos. Most online HEIC converters force you to upload (slow, privacy-questionable) or install software. Renza converts HEIC to JPG entirely in your browser using a small JS decoder library. Multiple files at once. Fast, private, no signup. Output is standard JPEG that opens everywhere.

How it works

Upload your photo. The heic to jpg prompt is pre-filled. Result in 5 to 15 seconds.

Tips for best results

Things that meaningfully improve the output.

1

Live Photos export as still

HEIC files often contain a Live Photo motion track. The JPG output is just the still frame.

2

AirDrop already converts

If you only need to share with one person on a Mac/PC, AirDrop with 'JPG' selected in Files settings already does this. For batches or sharing online, use this tool.

3

Originals not changed

Your HEIC files stay untouched. You get new JPG files with the same name.

4

Quality setting

Default is JPEG quality 92 which is near-lossless. Drop to 80 if you also want smaller files.

Frequently asked questions

Is the conversion lossy?

HEIC → JPG is lossy by definition (JPEG is a lossy format). At quality 92 the loss is imperceptible.

Does my photo get uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser. The file never leaves your device.

Can I convert hundreds at once?

Yes. Drop all the HEIC files into the upload area and they convert one by one in your browser. Practical limit is your computer memory.

What about HEIC to PNG?

Use /tools/heic-to-png, same tool, PNG output.

Will iPhone Live Photos motion be preserved?

No, JPEG has no motion track. You get the still frame only.
