2. Best for the best raw quality with audio

Google Veo 3.1

Veo is, on our own generations, the strongest model in this list: the best prompt adherence, the most believable physics, and synchronised dialogue, sound effects and ambience produced in the same pass as the video. If a clip has to land exactly as written, this is the model that lands it.

The catch is access. Through Google's own products Veo lives inside a paid AI subscription with metered daily generation, which is an awkward fit for iterative creative work. (Veo 3.1 Fast is one of the four models renza runs, at 25 credits per 8-second clip, which is our answer to that particular problem.)

What it does well

  • Best-in-class prompt adherence on complex, multi-clause scenes.
  • Native audio including dialogue that syncs convincingly.

Kuaishou's Kling is the control freak's model, and we mean that as a compliment. It holds fine detail — hair, fabric, product surfaces — better than anything else at its price, its camera moves stay fluid, and it is the only model in this roundup that will interpolate between a start frame and an end frame you both supply.

It generates no audio at all, which is a real constraint rather than a rounding error: every clip that needs sound needs a second tool or a second model.

Seedance Pro

ByteDance's Seedance Pro is the quiet value pick of AI video: native audio, natural physics on everyday scenes, and 5 or 10 second clips, at roughly a quarter to a third less per second of footage than Veo. On ordinary lifestyle, product and nature clips the quality gap against the frontier is small enough that most viewers would not name the winner.

On complicated, precisely-staged scenes Veo is still clearly better, so treat Seedance as the default and Veo as the escalation.

The consistent complaint is economic rather than creative: credits drain faster than users expect and the remedy on offer is a larger plan. If you iterate heavily, budget accordingly.

Where it falls short

  • Credit burn is the single most common user complaint; costs can be hard to predict per generation.

Luma Dream Machine

Luma built its reputation on producing pleasant, natural-feeling motion quickly, and it remains a good place to explore an idea when you do not yet know what the shot is. The interface stays out of the way and the results have a characteristic smoothness.
